ROBBIE BARRAT
Robbie Barrat, born in Dublin in 1999, is an artist and graphic designer who utilizes artificial intelligence as both a tool and a medium. He completed his high school education in Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia, in May of 2017. Following graduation, he has had a diverse career that includes working at NVIDIA on neural networks for self-driving cars, participating in research at Stanford University aimed at utilizing machine learning for drug discovery, pursuing independent art projects in New York, and attending art school in Saint Nazaire, France. He has recently established an art/design studio in Paris.
Initially, his work delved into AI as both a tool and a theme, striving to delineate the role of an artist engaged with AI in the art historical continuum. His recent projects, however, adopt AI more as an integral element within a broader creative methodology, shifting away from an exclusive emphasis on AI as the primary subject.
