Threshold (Artist's Proof), 2021

Etched Mirror Installation

Size: 80 x 80 cm

Unique

Description:

Threshold is an etched mirror installed on the ground face up that visitors are invited to walk on. The engraved text is a quote from One Straw Revolution by Masanobu Fukuoka, reading, "The world itself never asks whether it's based on a principle of cooperation or competition". As the work is exhibited, the steps of visitors will eventually render the inscription unreadable, evoking the other arenas, such as energy economies and blockchain, where in order to participate in a system, we also participate in its negative externalities.

Exhibited at Untitled Miami Art Fair, Miami, Kate Vass Galerie Booth A43, December 2024
